At the Battle of Duskendale, the Forresters suffered losses while fighting crown loyalists, partly as a result of the then-unknown treachery of Roose Bolton. Lord Thorren was slain by Targaryen loyalists at the Battle of the Trident, resulting in his son, Gregor, becoming Lord of Ironrath.ĭuring the War of the Five Kings, the Forresters again fought with the Glovers - this time for Robb Stark, the King in the North. When Eddard Stark raised his banners in rebellion of King Aerys Targaryen, the Forresters and their Glover liege lords pledged their fealty to Robert Baratheon. Around twenty years before the events of the story, the Whitehills controlled the river valley separating the two houses until it was taken back for the Forresters by Lord Thorren Forrester, popularly known as Thorren the Bold. The rivalry between both houses extends into the territory separating Ironrath and Highpoint. The Whitehills argue that the Forresters took all of their ironwood, while the Forresters say that the Whitehills clear cut all of what they were given. The exact origins of the rivalry are unknown, but part of it seems founded on the ironwood. The Forresters have long been rivals to House Whitehill of Highpoint, the sworn bannermen of House Bolton. Since then, the Forresters have become renowned for their preservation and craftsmanship of the rare ironwood trees that grow in the Wolfswood, particularly around Ironrath. 1500 years ago, Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons founded Ironrath, the stronghold of the house. For some reason the mountainous areas surrounding Ironforge appear to be perpetually snowy, while most other regions are temperate warmer.House Forrester was founded 50 generations ago by Gerhard Forrester, also known as Gerhard the Tall. It has a few more specifically swampy areas like the Swamp of Sorrows and the Wetlands, but temperate forests and hills proliferate. Unlike Kalimdor, the Eastern Kingdoms have very few desert areas (Except maybe the Badlands), but several areas are wastelands (The Blasted Lands, Burning Steppes, Deadwind Pass, and Searing Gorge). However, the north is the stronghold of the Forsaken and regions scarred by the Scourge. The Alliance dominates the central and southern parts of the continent (With the exception of Stranglethorn Vale). It has a variety of climates like Kalimdor, but has more zones that show damage from humanoid intervention. Most of the time, it appears that the Eastern Kingdoms are divided into only three continents, as Quel'thalas is shown as part of northern Lordaeron.Įastern Kingdoms is actually considered to be the three subcontinents: Lordaeron in the north, Khaz Modan in the middle, and Azeroth (the continent) in the south. Quel'thalas seems to make up a fourth continent in some maps. Undead, Dwarf, Blood Elves, Humans, Worgen, and a few remaining High Elves. The Eastern Kingdoms is the home to the each of these races'. The Eastern Kingdoms include the three continents of Lordaeron, Khaz Modan, and Azeroth. The Eastern Kingdom's western counterpart is the continent of Kalimdor. The central part of Eastern Kingdoms is dominated by the Khaz Mountains and the Redridge Mountains. The Eastern Kingdoms lies to the east of the Great Sea and to the west of the Forbidding Sea. The Eastern Kingdoms is made up from a group of smaller continents ( Azeroth, Khaz Modan, and Lordaeron) formed from the original continent of Kalimdor following the Great Sundering. The Eastern Kingdoms (a few times called Azeroth) is the eastern continent of Azeroth.
